That time of year is upon us once again where traditions and gatherings mark the start of the holiday season. This year, however, common components of these celebrations are being rethought and reimagined. While years past may have had millions readying their homes for incoming guests and purchasing fine foods fit for a large feast, this year finds many either scaling down or finding alternative ways to embrace the holidays. Thanksgiving is certainly a time for family and friends, and keeping this tradition is important for countless individuals, even if it is through other means.
Here at Aqua Home Care, we understand the strong bonds that tie families together and the importance of being with one another during the holidays. In-home care helps ensure that individuals can stay in their own homes throughout the year, including these special moments. This year, however, many families are opting to continue this tradition virtually and in-home care can certainly help. In-home caregivers from our registry go out of their way to make each day manageable and purposeful for their clients. This has been true before the pandemic, through the pandemic and will continue after. Clients benefit from the experience, skill, and compassion shown by their caregivers and, this season, they can benefit from both keeping up with tradition and embracing them in new ways. This may include assisting with:
- Online grocery shopping
- Ensuring safety and social distancing while out
- Sanitizing and disinfecting
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Social media
- Platforms that allow for virtual communication with friends and family
For many households, we understand that this year’s Thanksgiving may be spent a little differently. Virtual participation and smaller, more distanced gatherings may be what makes this year most unlike any other. Through the traditions kept and the traditions reimagined, our Aqua Home Care team wishes everyone good health, safety and wellness this season while out and about, on the road, and around the table.
